In Full Bloom
It snowed today—
with purpose and courage; but,
that will not be my memory.
The flakes huddled on wires and branches;
sculpture was crafted; however,
my abiding image shall be another.
There on the sidewalk, passing
my left shoulder, came, I suspect,
The Holy Spirit.
Yellow cat eye glasses;
Wool coat in olive;
and a sky blue-coral bag.
In full bloom, I grinned.
That look? The ‘together’ of it?
It’s just plain fabulous!
Glad to inspire! She said with radiance.
Your level of coordination—the glasses,
the hat, coat, and gloves? I noticed you, too!
The laughter of us both
was daffodils emerging;
the unfolding of crayon-bright tulips
in the snow,
among the flakes,
making art.
